| The biggest reward for working with the Rutgers football program came at the end of my 6th year with the school as the Scarlet Knights played in their first bowl game in 27 years. Rutgers played Arizona State at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. The picture above is with Rutgers Radio play-by-play announcer Chris Carlin on the left, me in the middle, and radio color analyst Tim Pernetti on the right. Besides the fact it was a great football, Rutgers brought about 11,000 of its fans out west and there was a very clear sea of red present. The pre-game tailgate was a sight to see. We broadcast from the booth normally used by the visiting team's radio broadcast at Arizona Diamondbacks games. As you can see from the picture below, the booth itself is quite boring...you travel all the way across the country for a bowl game and walk in to a booth that is decorated with one big white wall. That said, I do suggest you check out the pool should you ever get to the ballpark. |
