"Always appreciate your mother -- because you
can never have another"
Elaine Shrager:  May 1st, 1940 - September 6th, 1996

This was taken in the kitchen of where I grew up -- 555 3rd
Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Elaine Forman Shrager lived her entire life in the New York City area.  She attended Brooklyn College as an undergraduate
and would later earn her Ph.D.  I'll never forget the time we started calling her Dr. Shrager and she opened up her own
private practice as a psychologist in the early 70's -- it was about the same time she changed from straight to curly hair.  She
also worked as a school psychologist in the NYC public school system for over 10 years.

My mom was someone I could always go to for support; she always possessed shoulders I was allowed to cry on.  And to
this day, I have not met a better cook.  She is the reason why my favorite dinner is cheese fondu.
In Brooklyn overlooking the East River -- 1964.
